Ship ahoy! East Anglian Sailing Trust
East Anglian Sailing Trust is a charity that provides an opportunity to Visually Impaired People to enjoy the experience of sailing whilst learning new skills at the same time.
All cruises start and end at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, Levington, near Ipswich. Yachts range from approximately 8 to 14 meters in length accommodating 3 to 6 people. All have a sea water WC and basin, some have a shower but showers are normally taken when visiting a marina.
Crew live and sleep on the boat. The success of each cruise is heavily dependent on the crew being adaptable and prepared to participate. Participants must be at least 18 years old and must be healthy and fairly agile. 2 events are on offer:
• Summer cruise, 13-22 July, cost £225, bookings by 31 May, experience of at least a taster weekend is essential
• Autumn taster weekend, 21-23 September, cost £50, bookings by 10 August, no sailing experience required.
