Metro's Marathon Man
On Sunday 22 April, Metro member, Bryn Reynolds, fulfilled a long time ambition to run the London Marathon. It seemed all the more special to Bryn, as it took place in Olympic year. Bryn had been training for the past 12 months, getting up early for his runs and spending a lot of time in the gym at work. By the day of the race he was fitter than he’d been for some time. “It was a very enjoyable and fun experience (well most of it)”, Bryn said. Bryn finished in 4hrs 32mins. This was slower than he’d hoped for but on reflection he’s just pleased to have stayed the course.
Bryn joins a small group of Metro members to have run the London Marathon, including his wife Debbie, who completed the race in 2009. “We now have his and hers medals at home”, Bryn joked.
Bryn ran for the Shooting-Stars-CHASE Children's Hospice and to date he’s raised nearly £1,600. For anyone who would still like to sponsor Bryn, you can do so by visiting his sponsorship page
